Welcome to this week’s edition of WoW Weekly News! As always we bring you the latest in World of Warcraft (WoW) and The War Within (TWW). Whether you’re a veteran or new to Azeroth we’ve got you covered with the latest news on upcoming events, game updates and community activities.

World of Warcraft 20th Anniversary Celebration
The World of Warcraft 20th anniversary is here and Blizzard is going all out to celebrate. From October 22, 2024 to January 6, 2025 the WoW community will be able to participate in special events, exclusive rewards and in-game activities to honor two decades of adventuring in Azeroth.
Want to level up your WoW experience? Now’s the time to do so with the World of Warcraft 12-Month Subscription. By purchasing this you’ll get several mounts and pets including the Startouched Furline Skyriding mount, a new addition to your WoW collection. Plus, subscribers will get access to upcoming content like the Lunar New Year event and more.

Twitch Drops: The Sand Scarab Pet
If you like to watch live streams and earn in-game rewards the World of Warcraft 20th anniversary has you covered. From October 22 to November 5, 2024 you can earn the Sand Scarab pet by watching 4 hours of WoW content on Twitch.
This little guy looks like a common beetle but packs a big sting. The Sand Scarab is a must have for any pet collector. To get yours just tune in to your favorite WoW Twitch streams during the event period and watch for 4 hours.
Twitch Drop Event Details
- Event Duration: October 22, 10:00 a.m. PDT – November 5, 10:00 a.m. PST
- Requirement: Watch 4 hours of WoW content on Twitch
- Reward: Sand Scarab pet
- Eligible Channels: Any World of Warcraft stream on Twitch
Once the event is live don’t miss out on getting this pet. It’s a great addition to any players collection and a fun way to show off your anniversary participation!
Hallow’s End: 50% Off Transmogs and Toys
Hallow’s End is here and WoW is getting spooky! Players can dress up their characters with frightful and fun costumes during this annual event. From October 15 to October 31, 2024 you can get 50% off all transmog appearances and toys.
Whether you want to dress your character up in a ghastly getup or grab a toy to play with your friends, now’s the time to shop. The sale is in the Battle.net Shop and in-game store so don’t miss out!

World of Warcraft Student Art Contest 2024
Calling all artists! Blizzard Entertainment is once again hosting the World of Warcraft Student Art Contest for 2024. This is your chance as a college or university student to show off your skills by submitting original artwork that fits within the World of Warcraft universe.
The contest challenges students to think outside the box and design something that’s never been seen before in Azeroth but still within the WoW art style. Entries can be 2D or 3D artwork, animations or character designs. The contest runs from October 14, 2024 to January 26, 2025 and winners will receive recognition from Blizzard and have their artwork featured by the development team.
Important Dates for the Student Art Contest
- Submission Start: October 14, 2024
- Submission End: January 26, 2025
- Eligibility: US & Canadian students (excluding Quebec)
- Categories: 2D art, 3D art, animation, character design
